Celebrating all things foodie the Byron Bay Fine Food and Beverage Festival is fast approaching with the event kicking off on Saturday the 3rd of June. The festival will showcase Australia’s top food artisans and chefs as well as leading wineries and beverage producers.
12 signature tasting plates by our region’s finest culinary talent will be concocted for the day. Gavin Hughes, head chef at The Byron at Byron Resort and Spa has put together a plate for the event comprised of “Byron Bay Mozzarella, Toasted Heartbreads, Witches Broomstick Mushrooms, Pickled Witlof & Smoked Macadamia Oil”. Shuck Oysters will launch their newly created Smoked Oysters in the Artisan Producers marquee on the day with another fantastic local business Bun Coffee hosting the Single Origin Coffee Bar with 3 specially selected Single Origin beans available on the day.
Other purveyors of foodie gold presenting their creations to a ravenous crowd include charismatic Executive Chef Sean Connelly from The Balcony serving up his decadent “Oyster & Mussel Chowder with Duck Fat Chips” and to wash it all down? Local multi-award winning Stone & Wood Brewing Co’s famous Pacific Ales will be available on the day – our idea of heaven….
Tickets are $22 a person for the event which will be held in the beautiful grounds of Byron Bay’s award winning resort Elements.The Byron Bay Food and Wine Festival runs from 11am – 7pm and includes a number of masterclasses including a free wine and beverage workshop with Jane Thomson, Founder of The Fabulous Ladies Wine Society
