Byron Bay Organic Farm and Cooking School Launches | NEWS
Bhavana Organic Farm + Cooking School has officially launched. The organic farm and cooking school is set on a magnificent 125 acres nestled in the hinterland of Byron Bay, only minutes’ drive from the historic villages of Newrybar and Bangalow. The creation of friends and business partners; Greta Smith, Joanna Rushton and Susie Cameron, Bhavana is the fulfilment of a lifelong dream.
Bhavana (Bhaa-vuh- naa) meaning ‘spiritual cultivation’ is at the heart of every offering. The cooking classes deliver an immersive paddock to plate with foraging and gathering from the organic gardens allowing guests to see, smell, feel and taste everything that is cooked. What cannot be harvested from the garden is sourced from local Byron producers. Dishes are prepared and cooked as a group, then enjoyed over a sit-down lunch, paired with selected organic and biodynamic wines. The team’s living philosophy is in the “simple and authentic understanding of food and its significance to our wellbeing and health”
