Santos is a go-to for locals for excellent coffee, takeaway salads, smoothies with spirulina, acai, and cacao to go with that beautiful raw slice of heaven made locally and with love. Bulk, whole food supplies can be found in-store with organic spices, nuts, pulses and a fresh produce section with fridges stacked with oils, tofu, cheese and more. There’s locally made organic bread, a select range of books and every tea under the sun available either loose or boxed.
The outpost and retail arm of popular local company Peace Love & Vegetables Jing Organics is a great little store/cafe/market located in the Arts & Industry area just outside of Byron’s town centre. They stock a variety of ethical brands such as Fair Trade Coffee and have a mini market selling organic produce delicious local cheeses, tofu, yoghurt and more. For those on the go, there are takeaway salads and excellent coffee on offer.
From the Organic Dandelion Chai Lattes to their delicious Nourishing Bowls, FOLK has become quite the famous little purveyor of all things organic and good for you. Their Instagram feed is drool-worthy with pretty pictures of their delicious plant-based food and drink offerings against a backdrop of interiors which are a fusion of modernist / 70’s kitsch. Check out their sister cafe WOODS in the beautiful village of Bangalow, located a 10-minute scenic drive from Byron.
Fundies Whole Foods Cafe & Store
Located smack bang in the centre of town, Fundies is somewhat of a Byron institution. The shop overflows with organic, fair-trade goods – you’ll find everything from pantry items, fresh produce, vitamins, products for the home, for the body and more. Fundies is literally a one-stop-shop. The cafe serves local, organic coffee and a range of clean, plant-based food to either eat out on the verandah (good for people watching if you’re a visitor) or to take-away.
We love the Roadhouse – everything this awesome eatery and bar do is driven by quality and provenance. The only certified 100% organic restaurant, cafe and bar in Byron Bay, their ethos is driven by using whatever is in season which equates to a menu that changes daily. The food and drinks offering is without fault – always delicious, always innovative and 100% refined sugar-free. Great for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
100 Mile Table
100 Mile Table cafe and catering company use local organic produce in both the breakfast and lunch menu at the cafe and in their popular catering menu which changes according to season. Take away food and excellent coffee is also available. Catering on-site and off,100 Mile do pop-ups and long-table dinners which are well worth attending if you happen to be in town. This small family-owned shop overflows with everything from organic produce, artisanal bread, whole foods, beauty products, essential oils, pastries, as well as yoghurt, coconut milk and cheeses. This loved local store is really a one-stop-shop. Their ready to go takeaway curries and vegetarian lasagnas by local organic cafe Heart and Halo are delicious and perfect for busy peeps.

Located on Fletcher St in the centre of Byron Bay, Combi is famous in Melbourne for their organic, raw and vegan bowls, smoothies and sweet treats. Think fair trade coffee, fermented bread, kombucha on tap, cold-pressed juices, in-house made raw sweet treats, raw chia parfaits and Combi’s own house-made probiotic cashew yoghurt. Munch Crunch Organics
Munch Crunch offer a home delivery service with certified organic food delivered straight to your door in the Northern Rivers, Gold Coast and Brisbane. Fresh produce is available based on season and we love the idea of neighbours or workmates getting together and sharing a box.
