Born and raised in Byron Bay, Stone & Wood is proudly local and independent, brewing approachable, sessionable beer in the Northern Rivers of NSW. Inspired by the idea of creating a village brewery and with the vision of building a conscious business, this awesome brewery “strives to do good in our community with beer that is simply good to drink.” Since opening in 2009, the brewery has gone on to win a swag of awards both globally and back on home turf and for good reason. They DO make very good beer. Stone & Wood’s core range sits front and centre on tap inside the tasting room (pictured), an expansive space populated with communal tables filled with visitors surrounded by abundant plant life, contemporary artwork and of course beer. Most are here to sample the beer from tasting paddles which includes the opportunity to try one of Stone & Wood’s pilot batch brews (only available locally).
Take one of their tours (they run for about an hour) to get an insight into the history of the business, a detailed explanation of the brewing process and the philosophy behind this much-loved brewery. Stone & Wood offer tours of the brewery twice a day but be aware, they book out a couple of weeks ahead of time so if you’re heading to Byron and are wanting to jump on a tour you can book a tour here
